An established industrial company based in North London wanted to reduce their energy costs and improve sustainability as part of their journey towards net zero. They approached CMF Capital to deliver a cost-effective, fully funded solar PV installation to support their environmental and operational goals.

The Objective

The customer was spending over £330,000 per year on electricity, despite having negotiated a competitive rate per kWh from their energy provider. With rising energy costs and increasing focus on sustainability, they sought a long-term solution to reduce both their carbon footprint and operational expenditure. They had approached multiple providers but needed a funding solution that would make investment in renewable energy both affordable and seamless.

Our Approach

In partnership with a trusted solar installation specialist, CMF Capital designed a 537 kWp rooftop solar PV system comprising over 1,000 panels. The system is predicted to deliver £90,000 in electricity cost savings in the first 12 months and achieve a return on investment in under four years.

CMF Capital structured a tailored finance package with a VAT-only deposit and repayments over seven years, ensuring that the upfront cost wasn’t a barrier to entry. The structure of the finance meant that the customer was cash positive from day one, with the savings greater than the capital & interest repayments. To support project delivery, stage payments were arranged for the installer from order to commissioning – ensuring smooth cash flow throughout the installation process.

The client’s decision to partner with CMF Capital was driven by our ability to provide a fully funded, competitively priced solution with hands-on support at every stage. Following completion, the company has already seen significant operational benefits, including the ability to increase production capacity, order new equipment, and employ additional staff. They are now exploring opportunities to roll out similar systems across other UK sites.
